Well, someone has to do it….

Jaars airplane just waiting to be washed!

A job was posted this past week at Jaars. Jaars is a non-profit ministry associated with Wycliffe Bible Translators and SIL. They aid in finding solutions in transportation, technology, media and training for the Bible Translation task.

There are many jobs at Jaars. Pilots, Vernacular media trainers, nurses, drivers and food service to name a few. But the recent job posting caught my eye.

“Airplane Washer”

At first I thought it was a cute joke. They do have airplanes at Jaars. Because we live only 1.5 miles from their campus we hear and see small aircraft taking off and landing there all the time. But do they need to be washed down?

Apparently, they do.

Brief Description:

This employee will work under the Aviation Manager and Flight Coordinator at the JAARS Center located south of Waxhaw, N.C. This is a part-time, “as needed”, position.

Major Job Responsibilities:

  • Washing airplanes

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate a deep and growing walk with the Lord Jesus that includes your personal growth and the ability to support others in their spiritual growth.

  • Embrace the vision, mission and core values of JAARS, and help us live them effectively across all facets of the organization.

  • Must view this position as a ministry.

  • Must be 17 years of age or older.

  • Must be dependable, detailed, careful and have the ability to follow instructions well.

  • Be available when aircraft are available to be washed.

When we share with groups, we usually tell people that God can use anyone with any of their gifts in the Bible Translation Task.

This kind of proves it.

Let me know if you’d like to apply for the job.
